How are our fees calculated?
Like most professionals, we charge by the hour. Many documents contain sections which require almost no work at all while others need a great deal of work, and it is for this reason that we believe an hourly rate is the fairest method of charging. You pay for just the work that has been done and nothing else – there are no hidden extras. In some instances, larger projects may be undertaken for a fixed price but this is subject to negotiation, and it would be necessary for us to examine the complete document before coming to such an arrangement.
How many words can we proofread per hour?
The number of words that can be proofread in an hour varies according to the number and severity of a document's errors. In a document that has been written by someone with a good command of English and where the text flows freely, up to 2000 words per hour may be achieved. However, if the text is poorly written this may reduce the words per hour rate to 1000.So how much do we charge then?
All projects are priced individually according to which service you require. In addition, it is difficult to estimate how long it will take to complete a document without taking a thorough look at it first, to establish subject matter, word count, file format, accuracy of spelling and grammar etc.As a first step, ask us for a free estimate.
The exact hourly rate we will charge varies depending on the nature of the work involved.
